As we embark on a new year of learning, I would like to introduce our new staff members. Each has already become part of the Westmoreland Middle School family, and I invite you to introduce yourselves to them when you're in the building!
Maggie Brown, French
Bonjour! My name is Maggie Brown and I am the new French teacher for both the middle and high school. I am originally from Oswego, NY and just recently relocated to the area. I received my Master’s degree in Adolescent French Education from SUNY Oswego, and my Bachelors in French from Nazareth College in Rochester, NY. While an undergrad, I had the opportunity to study abroad for an academic year at the University of Rennes 2 in Rennes, France. Prior to Westmoreland, I taught middle and high school level French in Webster, NY and spent a year teaching in Savannah, GA. Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading and dancing! I like to consider myself a life-long learner and am looking forward to learning, teaching and growing with the students and colleagues at Westmoreland.
Hello! My name is Michael Wenz and I am the new Business/Home and Careers teacher at Westmoreland Middle School. I worked in management positions from New York City to the Seattle, Washington area and then came back to New York State where I decided to go into teaching. I then got my Master's Degree and taught in Vermont for four years and then came back to New York State to work at a BOCES Center. My next career position was as a business teacher at Rome Catholic School for 27 years until I retired.
I live in the area and am constantly on the go with my grandson.
