What an inspirational Forum we had this past Monday morning! In the midst of our focus on empathy, one of our students had the tremendous courage to stand up and share the story of her childhood battle with cancer. Monday also marked ten-years of being cancer-free for this student and her family, which we were able to celebrate as a school community.
As a way to build empathy for children fighting cancer and other illnesses, she has organized a "pajama day" for this Friday, October 31st. All of the proceeds from this event will be donated to Golisano Children's Hospital in Syracuse to purchase toys and games for children and their families to enjoy. The recommended donation of $2 can be collected by advisory teachers on Friday morning.
