On Sunday the band visited Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where they were able to visit the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. Students were able to see the original typeface of the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution, along with the ink that was used to sign the Declaration!
After our visit in Philly we went over to Camden, New Jersey and had lunch on the U.S.S. New Jersey, the most decorated battleship in American History. After enjoying lunch on the fantail of the ship, we took a tour of the ship. We learned about how sailors lived and how all the ship fought and protected our country.
Thank you for everyone who helped support us in our fundraising efforts to attend this trip! It allowed our students from Westmoreland to see more of the world, experience our country’s history first hand, and create memories to last a life-time. Thank you.
