Eric Coriale, Middle School Principal
First, let me introduce myself. My name is Eric Coriale and I am ecstatic to be joining the Westmoreland team as the Middle School Principal. For the past five years, I have been the Coordinator of Innovation and Enrichment for the Hamilton Central School District. I wore many hats in this position including providing leadership in developing authentic, life-long curricula and innovating learning and teaching through the integration of technology. I began my career in education as a fourth grade teacher, also at Hamilton. I earned my Bachelors Degree from SUNY Potsdam in Childhood Education, a Masters in Literacy Education from SUNY Cortland, and my School Building and School District Leader Certification from Canisius College.
My wife and I live locally with our two sons, Dolan who is two and a half years old and Gaven who is only six weeks old. We both place tremendous value on being part of our community and look forward to being active in a variety of ways with our family.
I am eager to begin this journey with the dedicated team in the middle school and continue to develop a dynamic, engaging, and rigorous learning environment for students. I look forward to meeting students, parents, and community members! Please stop in and say hello!

I currently live in Whitesboro with my husband, Jason Bradley, and our two sons, John and Brian. John is four years old and Brian is two. They are adventurers and they keep us quite busy. My husband has taught Chemistry at Westmoreland for the past 10 years and I have always been impressed by the school district and the community’s involvement. Katie Eagan, Middle School Health
Hi, my name is Katie Egan and I am excited to be joining the Westmoreland Central School District as a Health and Physical Education teacher. I am looking forward to teaching Health in the Middle School along with Health and Physical Education in the High School. I hope to coach in the district as well!
I am originally from NJ and I attended The College of New Jersey, where I was an All American soccer player and a Scholar Athlete. After completing my bachelor's degree, I went to East Carolina University for my master's degree. While there, I served as an assistant coach for the women's soccer team, a tutor and mentor for student athletes, and an instructor in the Health and Physical Education Department. I then returned to NJ and have served in various roles including but not limited to Teacher, Coach, and Assistant Athletic Director. I taught at various levels in different schools and coached a range of sports including soccer, wrestling, basketball, and softball. In my most recent role, I worked at Bloomfield College as Coordinator of Compliance for the Athletic Department, Health and Wellness Instructor, and Head Coach for Women's Soccer. Over the summer, I relocated to Rome and I look forward to sharing my passion for health, wellness, physical education, and athletics with the students, staff, and community of the Westmoreland Schools. Go Bulldogs!!
Ranae Waterman, Special Education
Hello, my name is Ranae Waterman and I will be the 6th grade Special Education teacher at Westmoreland Middle School. I have a Master's in Special Education, grades K-12. This will be my 10th year as a full-time teacher. I was a teaching assistant for two years at Oneida-Madison BOCES, taught two years in the Mohawk Central School District, two years in the Rome City School District, two years here in Westmoreland, and then two years at Herkimer County BOCES. I am extremely happy to be working here in this district again.
My children and I live here in Westmoreland. My twin sons, Mack and Zach, will be juniors this year, and my daughter, Grace, is entering 6th grade. The boys are proud members of the Pride of Westmoreland Marching Band, and Grace is a member of the Westmoreland Winterguard. Needless to stay, this keeps us busy for most of the year.
Again, I am very proud to be back working with such a dedicated staff, and I look forward to an exciting school year.
Jennifer Sabonis, French
Bonjour! My name is Jennifer Sabonis and I am the new French teacher at both Westmoreland Middle and High School. I am enthusiastic about all things French; I have a Master’s degree in French and Francophone studies from Syracuse University and even lived in France for a year while I was a student at Nazareth College. For the past two years I have been working in the Utica City School District at both Proctor High School and JFK Middle School.
While I grew up in Whitesboro, I spent all of my summers at the Westmoreland Town Pool. When I got older, I worked as a lifeguard there and then eventually became director. I have always valued my experiences in Westmoreland and have really enjoyed getting to know its people. I am so very excited to have a chance to better know the community and be a part of the Westmoreland Central School District!
